| The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) is a technical coordination body for the Internet. Created in October 1998 by a broad coalition of the Internet's business, technical, academic, and user communities, ICANN is assuming responsibility for a set of technical functions previously performed under U.S. government contract by IANA and other groups. |

| The Internet Content Rating Association is an independent, non-profit organization with offices in the US and Europe. ICRA's aim is to protect children from potentially harmful material while protecting the free speech rights of content providers. ICRA owns and operates the ICRA labeling system, and its RSACi forerunner. |

| IWA, a non-profit professional association, is the industry's recognized leader in providing educational and certification standards for Web professionals. IWA's initiatives now support more than 100 official chapters representing over 18,000 individual members in 106 countries. IWA's accomplishments include the industry's first guidelines for ethical and professional standards, Web certification and education programs, specialized employment resources, and technical assistance to individuals and businesses. |

| The Internet Professional Publishers Association was founded in 1995 as an association of professionals involved in New Media and the Internet. The role of the IPPA has been to encourage quality solutions for commercial applications of the Internet. |

The HTML Writers Guild is the world's largest international organization of Web authors with over 117,000 members in more than 150 nations worldwide.
On January 13, 1998, the HTML Writers Guild joined the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). The Guild is the first association of web designers to join the consortium and thus gain a voice in the web standards that our members work with on a daily basis.
As the only association of web developers in the World Wide Web Consortium, the HWG gives the front-line web designer a voice in the standards process and the future of the Web. |
